Here I have listed a number of youtube videos in which Rabbis and practising Jews from different parts of the world speak on Islam and Allah.

Since Christians have an affinity towards Jews, who also have the Old Testament (TaNaKh), I thought it would be better to let the Jews explain to their Christian friends the truth that Allah is the God of the Torah. But of course, the truth about Islam and Allah remains regardless of what a Jew or anybody else thinks.

Now, not all Jews feel the same way. Indeed, there exists a diversity of views on this subject among Jews; but it still remains that many practicing Jews recognize that the concept of God in Islam and Judaism are identical.

(Disclaimer  :  Please note that I may not agree with the views of these Rabbis on various other matters.)

“The Hour will not be established-till the people of the desert (the camel shepherds) compete with one another in constructing high buildings.”

24/03/21 edit: The skyscraper prophecy is explained in greater detail in this video:

1. Skeptics deem prophecies about increase in wars, disasters and immorality as being too ”vague” to be taken seriously, and therefore not enough to identify someone as a true prophet foretelling the future.

However, there are other prophecies that accurately describe events and life in our modern world. One such prophecy that stands out is the one made by Mohammad foretelling that the desert dwelling Arabs – once simple sheep and camel herders living in tents – would be competing in the construction of tall buildings. Today we have what we call ”skyscrapers”, located not just in developed Western cities in North America, but even in Arab lands, places that are once mostly dry and barren with people living in simple houses and tents.

2A. The morality of these lavish displays of wealth are besides the point and out of the scope of this thread. Observant Muslims understand that lavish displays of wealth and extravagance are against Islamic principles. Mohammad knew that 1400 years from his time, desert dwelling Arabs – who according to Islam were to shun extravagance – would be competing in the construction of tall buildings! In fact, it is only within the last 3 decades or so, that skyscrapers and highrise buildings filled the skylines of major Arab cities. The key word here is ”compete”, which in the given context suggests constructions for the sake of status and prestige, as opposed to addressing practical needs. To my surprise, I recently learned that there IS such a thing called a ”skyscraper competition”!

One would have to be either blind or willfully ignorant (and I will absolutely NOT waste my time in dealing with either type)…. to deny that Mohammads prophecy about competitions to build tall buildings has been fulfilled 100%. The people of the desert have competed to build tall buildings. Given the prophecy, it is absolutely no co-incidence that the worlds tallest skyscraper, the worlds tallest lighthouse and the worlds tallest clocktower are all in Arab lands.

2B. Whats really interesting is that Saudi Arabia has announced plans to gigantic 1 kilometer tall tower, that would be  The Kingdom Tower

Kingdom Tower (Arabic: برج المملكة‎‎ Burj al Mamlakah), previously known as Mile-High Tower, (Arabic: برج الميل‎‎), is a skyscraper currently under construction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia……. that will be located along the Red Sea on the north side of Jeddah. If completed as planned, the tower will reach unprecedented heights, becoming the tallest building in the world, as well as the first structure to reach the one-kilometre-high mark.

The recent announcement of the tower has provoked widespread and highly divided reaction throughout the media. Those who support the project see it as an investment that, although visionary, will have positive social and economic effects on the area as well as the country in the long term, while others see it as nothing more than the result of self-centered and attention seeking competition between oil-rich gulf nations that will serve no purpose other than as a white elephant, costing more and generating less than expected, if it even gets built.

3. The Arab skyscraper prophecy is important because its fulfillment (among certain other prophecies not covered in this thread)… signals the beginning of the end times. The implications of this is that the timing of the beginning of the end times is no longer a matter of speculation and conjecture. Rather, it has been confirmed that we have been living in the end times for quite some time now.

And God knows best!

The almost sudden transformation of Arabia from a cesspool of idolatry to a shining example of Abrahamic Monotheism is nothing less than a miracle. One can expect the Bible to speak of this event from a prophetic perspective. But exactly what part of the Bible points to the rise of Islam and the warrior-prophet who established it?

Isaiah 42 confirms the arrival of a certain servant of God who :

a) Was called the “light of the Gentiles”…
No Israelite prophet fits this. Not even Jesus, who said that he came only the lost sheep of Israel. This chapter is speaking about a servant of God who dealt with gentiles, who were towalk in ways they had not known before,(more on this later) which the former idolatrous Arabs most definitely were.

b) Influenced the people of Kedar, Sela and the wilderness…
Let the wilderness and its towns raise their voices; let the settlements where Kedar lives rejoice. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them shout from the mountaintops. Let them give glory to the Lord
Kedar = son of Ishmael, ancestor of the Arabs
Sela = Mountain in Medina where Mohammad fought a battle (wiki)
Wilderness = The harsh regions where the Arabs lived
This is a crystal-clear reference to the geographical area where Mohammad operated. No Israelite prophet had anything to do with these regions, at least not to the extent of Mohammad.

c) Worked single-mindedly towards completing his mission…
he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth.
Mohammad indeed campaigned against great odds. He endured insults and abuses and was called a madman by those who opposed his call to Monotheism. He could have easily given up at any point. But instead of faltering or becoming discouraged, he succeeded in ending idolatry and established the worship of the One true God, declaring “None has the right to be worshiped but Allah”. The law that he established over the Arabs,  also served as a judicial system.

d) Was instrumental in fighting Gods war…
The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.
Obviously, God isn’t going to personally march out or raise a battle cry. Mohammad was Gods instrument of war. His victories were victories of God, not his own.

e) Was instrumental in shaming the idolaters…
But those who trust in idols, who say to images, ‘You are our gods,’ will be turned back in utter shame.
Mohammad indeed shamed the idolaters when he won and destroyed their idols and established Islam. They, being Mohammads mortal enemies, would have felt even more ashamed when Mohammad forgave them after his final victory over them. Mohammads victory over the idolaters was the fulfillment of this prophecy. It is what God meant when He said “I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.”.

f) Was instrumental in leading the people through new ways…
I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness into light before them

This is what happened when Mohammad established Islam. The former idolaters left their old ways behind and were indeed led by ways they had not known. The former idolaters accepted a religion that worshiped the One True God and revered the prophets and accepted Jesus as the Messiah.

Today, there are no more worshipers of graven images left in Arabia, so nobody is going to come along to “shame them”. The people of Kedar and the wilderness have already rejoiced. The darkness of idolatry has already turned to the light of pure Monotheism. All these prophecies have already been fulfilled with Mohammad and so it confirms that Mohammad was a “Biblical” prophet. I have presented incontrovertible evidence not from the Koran, but from the Bible itself that shows events in Islamic history were prophesied by God. So when you deny this, you deny the prophecies in your own Bibles. If you believe somebody else fits the descriptions of the servant of God of Isaiah 42, go ahead and post it along with your proofs.

Christians had a 600 year long headstart before Mohammads arrival. They had the scriptures, the time and the armies to Christianize Arabia, like Europe. They even failed to carry out the mandate of “go and make disciples of all nations”, with regard to their Arabian neighbours. And so they have no right to object or criticize Mohammads achievments in ending idolatry and establishing a religion that worshiped the God of Abraham and revered Jesus as Messiah. This is what God wanted and Gods Will was indeed carried out on earth by Mohammad, the servant of Isaiah 42. God knows best.

cru·ci·fy
To put (a person) to death by nailing or binding to a cross.

Part 1 : The Biblical account of the crucifixion

1) The Christian account of the crucifixion is that Jews demanded from Pontius Pilate the death sentence for Jesus, following which the Roman executioners carried out the crucifixion – a standard Roman execution procedure at that time. This implies that the Messiah, Jesus was killed at the hands of men – the Roman executioners who nailed him to the cross and more importantly, the Jewish priests who wanted him dead.

2) John 10:18 opposes the idea of Jesus having his life taken by men. Here Jesus makes a fascinating declaration, that he – with God-given authority – was in charge of his own life and that no man could take his life away from him. The exact verse is as follows :

No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. – John 10:18

3) The implications of John 10:18 is that Jesus could not have been truly “killed” by men, whether the Roman executioners or the Jewish priests. If it were so, then Jesus’ declaration that no man could take his life would be severely contradicted. In light of John 10:18, Jesus would have laid his life down on his own, only to take it back in the tomb after which, he ascended to God, but he did not die of the crucifixion, and nobody killed him.

Part 2 – The Islamic account of the crucifixion compared to the Biblical account.

1) The Koran assertively declares that Jesus was not killed, but that Allah raised Jesus up to himself.

That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah”;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow for of a surety they killed him not. Nay! Allah took him up to Himself; and Allah is Mighty, Wise. – Koran 4:157-158
(“They” and “them” refers to the Jews.)

2a) The above verses are often (mis)interpreted as meaning that Jesus was not personally taken up to the cross, and that somebody else was transformed to look like Jesus and mistakenly crucified in place of Jesus. This happens to be the popular interpretation of the Korans statement on the crucifixion. However, what if the above verses are actually fully in line with the sayings of Jesus and the Biblical account of the crucifixion? I will comment on the underlined parts of the verses, (But only Allah best knows the meanings)

2b) “they killed him not, nor crucified him” : Lets be clear first that to “crucify” is to KILL. It doesn’t mean to merely nail someone to a cross and leave it open ended. The 2 thieves died of the crucifixion and stayed dead. You could legitimately say that they were “killed / crucified”.

Jesus however, is exempt from falling the same category as the thieves for 2 reasons:
First, his own declaration in John 10:18 holds that no one could take his life from him and that he could lay down life on his own. And according to the Gospels, Jesus indeed laid down his life after he said “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” (Luke 23:46). Second, Jesus had authority to take back his own life. His resurrection in the tomb and ascension are well known. Putting the two together, we see that it echoes the Koranic statements that “they killed him not, nor crucified him…Allah took him up to Himself”.

2c. “but so it was made to appear to them” : To the Jews (and everybody else) looking on, it would have appeared as if he “died” as a result of the crucifixion But unbeknownst to them, Jesus had laid his own life, as he said he could and therefore, unlike the 2 thieves, did not die as a natural result of the crucifixion.

2d) “but only conjecture to follow” : The Jews remained convinced that Jesus was dead, and even spread rumors that Jesus “dead body” was stolen from the tomb by his disciples. Matthew 28:11 says that this story “has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day”. The Talmud supposedly contains a reference to the crucifixion and Jews continue to believe they executed a false prophet, but Christians know that was resurrected and ascended to God.

2e) “Allah took him up to Himself” : This does not need any further commentary, because its also the Christian view that Jesus ascended to God (John 20:17).

Part 3 : Conclusion
1. Jesus’ statement in John 10:18, “no man can take my life” corroborates the Korans statement that he was not killed/crucified.

“No man can take my life” = Jesus could NOT have been killed by men.
“I lay it down on my own” = Jesus did NOT suffer death by crucifixion like the thieves.
“I can take it back” = Jesus took it back in the tomb, or rather God returned his life back to him.

Reading the crucifixion in light of John 10:18, Jesus laid his own life and did not die by the hands of men carrying out the crucifixion. Nailed to the cross, yes. Died of the crucifixion, no. Jesus came back to life and ascended to God.

2. Hence, the Korans few sentences on the crucifixion, “they killed him not” … “but it was made to appear to them” … “having only conjecture to follow”…”Allah took him up to Himself”… elegantly summarizes the Bibles long account of Jesus’ “death”, the Jews storymongering and his ascent. We see that the Koran does not contradict the Bibles account of the crucifixion, but instead condenses it to a few short, crisp and poetic sentences.

Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy.
– Koran 35:6

Satans depiction in the Bible is incomplete as it leaves out a vital piece of information – a motive.
Why would Satan attempt to jinx Adam and Eve – a pair of innocent humans posing no direct threat towards him? Why would Satan risk suffering Gods punishment by corrupting Gods newest creation? IMO, the Bibles account regarding this is incomplete and only leaves us with more questions than answers.

Islam provides the complete back story to the events in the garden. According to the Islamic account, Adam had become the target of Satans wrath, not for anything he did, but because his creation led to Satans expulsion. The story in brief is that Satan – created from fire – considered himself superior to Adam who was made of clay. Satan arrogantly argued over his Maker over this, and ended up being punished. In retaliation, Satan vowed to mislead as many humans as he could. He said “My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make disobedience attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all. Except, among them, Your chosen servants.”- Koran 15:39

God replied saying those who follow Satan would end up in hell and that Satan only has power over those who follow him.

Indeed, My servants – no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. – Koran 15:42

And so, Satans personal mission started with Adam and Eve. The account of the garden took place after this.

One may ask if it was “right” of God to allow Satan to roam free to deceive and mislead humans. The simple answer is that Satan himself admits he has no power except over those who willingly follow him. Satan would wash his hands off even them by declaring…

I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. – Koran 14:22

That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah”;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise;-
—Qur’an 4:157-158

Most Muslim scholars today interpret the above event as one in which Allah substituted someone else for Jesus and that person was crucified. I differ, and instead interpret the verses as follows: Allah took his soul while he was nailed on the wooden cross. His blessed body was then taken down, prepared for burial, and sealed in a cave with Roman guards posted outside the cave. Allah Most High then returned his soul to his body while it was concealed in the cave. The body (the soul now with it) was then transformed from the spatiotemporal dimension of existence to a transcendental form and was then raised into the Samawat (i.e., the seven strata of space and time that exist between this world and Allah’s ‘arsh). Hence although Jesus was nailed on the cross, and had blood on his hands, he never experienced that death which the Qur’an calls maut (i.e., when the soul is taken and not returned).

Lessons from the Birth of Mary’s Son

The typical Islamic interpretation is that somebody else made to look like Jesus Christ ended up being killed on the cross.

Sheik Imran Hossein offers a rather interesting take on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
His interpretation is that it was Jesus himself who was nailed to the cross, BUT was not killed as a result of it – because God took his soul making his body “lifeless”. This lifeless body caused the Jews to think he was crucified. i.e – suffered a death resulting from being nailed to a cross. The crux of his argument is that “crucifixion” results in the death of the crucified one. But, In Jesus’ case, he was saved because God intervened, and thereby was not crucified.

Then, on his website, he goes on to say that after Jesus’ lifeless body was placed in a cave guarded by Roman guards, God returned Jesus’ soul to his body and raised him up. If this is indeed what transpired, then it means that Islam doesn’t deny that Jesus was nailed to the cross, but only that Jesus did not suffer death as a result of crucifixion… so the Jews cannot boast that they “crucified” Jesus to death. I’d advice readers to spend 10 minutes watching the video. (English)

“They operate like the Mafia,” … “They might tell the father of a girl who wears a skirt that’s too short and he’s, say, a store owner: ‘If you ever want to sell a pair of shoes, speak to your daughter.’”
source

These threats were made, not by fundamentalist Muslims in a conservative Middle Eastern nation, but rather by fundamentalist Jews in Brooklyn, NY, otherwise known for its rather un-Kosher hot dogs and mermaid parades. These modesty codes are strictly enforced by so calledmodesty squads, who are essentially the fundamentalist Jewish version of the Islamic religious police. While these orthodox Jews are American citizens, I’m sure most Americans would agree with me that threats over short skirts is anything but American.

So then, where is the outrage from all those Americans claiming Shariah — a foreign religious law — is gaining foothold in the USA?

But in places like Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the issue of non-compliance with ultra-Orthodox modesty rules has crept into neighboring secular areas. In 2009, Hasidic South Williamsburg community members successfully rallied to block a bike lane that brought outside bicyclists — specifically, women wearing shorts — through the neighborhood.

Many of the rules of conduct are focused explicitly on regulating what Hasidic women car wear in public, believing that an uncovered head or a skirt that reveals too much will arouse the sexual attention of men and boys.

Its easy to imagine the kind uproar that would have ensued had it been Muslims blocking off a bike lane to cyclists in shorts. However, conservative Jews were actually able to deny Americans access to a bike lane in an American city, for the simple reason that their clothing was not in compliance to Jewish modesty standards.

Once again, why are the anti-Sharia folks so silent over Jewish modesty laws — pretty much identical to Muslim modesty laws and as foreign to the USA — being enforced in an American city? Why are they shying away from criticizing Jews who are imposing their Sharia like modesty laws on other Americans?

Many of the rules of conduct are focused explicitly on regulating what Hasidic women car wear in public, believing that an uncovered head or a skirt that reveals too much will arouse the sexual attention of men and boys.

Similar to Islam and other conservative religions, clothing regulation for women is just one aspect of Jewish religious laws concerning modesty. In conservative branches of Judaism and Islam, the very purpose of modest dressing is to discourage sexual thoughts over scantily dressed women.

Both conservative Jews and Muslims place a strong emphasis on religious rulings especiallywhen it comes to women, clothing and diet. Jewish religious laws on modesty and diet are extremely similar to that of the Muslims, yet its always only the Muslim religious laws and practices that viewed with suspicion and contempt. Muslim modesty codes, skull caps, hijabs, halal meats and mosques and in the US are supposedly symbols of a foreign religious law being enforced in stealth. Whereas Jewish modesty codes, yarmulkes and shtreimels, kosher meats and menorahs seem to exist without attracting the negative attention from folks concerned about foreign religious laws enforced in the USA.

A possible explanation could be that groups pushing conspiracy theories of foreign religious laws in the USA only have an issue if it involves Muslims. Another possibility is that many of the anti-Sharia campaigners are largely comprised of Christians with pro-Zionist sentiments, who see the Jews as sharing in their religious heritage. Either way, their selective criticism of foreign religious laws in the USA only reveal that such groups and individuals operate on xenophobia and prejudice as opposed to a genuine interest over protecting their country from all things un-American.

(If I say something that is right, then God has inspired me. If I say something that is wrong, then it is my own mistake.)

1. Introduction
One of the many symbols that appear in the book of Revelations is the mysterious “whore”. Using the Bible, she can be identified as the city of Jerusalem. I have expanded on this in another thead – The Bible identifies the whore of Babylon as Jerusalem. This point is backed up by several Biblical quotes.

Now, if you happen to believe that the whore is something else, that is your take on the matter and you are most entitled to it. But this thread however, is going to be based on the premise that the whore is Jerusalem. Having said that, I am not up to debate the very premise of the thread, so don’t waste your time trying to convince me that the whore isn’t Jerusalem.

2. The whore, nations, kings and merchants.
Students of eschatology know that besides other things, the whore-
a) Possesses great wealth and luxury, symbolized by the gold, pearls and precious stones that she is adorned with.
b) “Fornicates” with kings and somehow makes the merchants of the earth wealthy.
c) Gets the nations drunk with the ‘wine of her fornication’.

Now pay special attention to Revelations 18:3 –
For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. – Revelation 18:3

Revelation 18:3 is peculiar in its metaphorical use of ‘intoxication’ and ‘fornication’ to narrate the whores relation with kings, nations and oddly – merchants. Could this seemingly innocuous reference to merchants hold the answer to larger questions?

The metaphors and the characters in that verse all provide vital clues on this matter. It also raises the following questions :
– What exactly is meant by her fornication with the kings?
– What do merchants of the earth have to do with all of this and how exactly are they growing rich because of her? (Important)
– What is meant by the ‘wine of the wrath of her fornication’ and how did the nations drink it?

In order to be able to answer these questions, we need to know what the metaphorical‘fornication’ really stands for. If “whore” is symbolic of a city, then what is her “fornication” symbolic of? (Answers revealed later in this thread.)

3. The whores fornication = usury!
What if the whores “fornication” is symbolic of an evil that plagues our world today –usury!
(Plenty has been written about this subject by people who are far more well versed in economics than I am.)

Now interpreting prophecies requires a bit of imagination, in addition to connecting dots and asking the right questions. Sometimes it helps to ask what-if questions, so as to open doors to new possibilities. Here’s how I arrived at the answer. I had recently read a Hadith that taught that usury is a sin worse than adultery. This got me thinking and I wondered if the book of Revelations is also comparing usury to a sexual sin, as carried out by the whore. I then started looking into how the narrative of the whore would unfold if the whores ‘fornication’ was replaced with ‘usury’, and to my amazement it all started to fall in place like pieces of a jigsaw!

Here are the answers.
The “fornication” between the whore and the kings represents the abominable financial system based on usury. It is through this system that the whore and the merchants of the earth grow rich.
– The kings committing adultery with her are world leaders who are also players in the whores usury based financial system.
– The merchants are the businessmen and bankers, who grow rich from whores usury based financial system.
– The nations are drunk with the wine of her fornication because they have been made a part of the whores usury based financial system.
In this light, one can deduce that usury is part of the filth that fills the whores golden cup, an important symbol pertaining to the whore. It is another of her major sins, in addition to having the blood of the holy people.

That usury is an abomination is nothing new. Several verses in the Old Testament teach that usury is forbidden by God Almighty. In fact, usury, is explicitly declared as an abomination!

Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him. – Ezekiel 18:13

4. When kings and merchants weep over a whore.
And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning – Revelation 18:9

And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more. – Revelation 18:11

The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing. – Revelation 18:15

When the whore was destroyed, so was the abominable financial system the kings and merchants lived by.
The fact that mighty kings and merchants, mourn and weep over the whore is further proof that the whores “fornication” was a financial system that they were benefiting from. They mourn and weep for the whore because the financial system that brought them wealth and riches had collapsed.

Interestingly, more than the kings who fornicated with her, its the merchants who mourn and weep over the whore. In fact, verses 11-19, contains only the lamentations of merchants, mourning over the whore and their own material losses!

5. The “great men of the earth” – villains behind the scenes.
Just before the end of the chapter, we learn that the merchants were not just neutral characters caught up in the chaos.

…for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. – Revelations 18:23

There you have it. The merchants, described as the great men of the earth belonged to the whores system all along! They are in all likelihood, the architects of the same usury based financial system and one with the whore. This perfectly explains why they were the ones mourning the whore the most. The nations were all deceived when they were suckered in to the whores financial system. This connects back to Revelation 18:3, where the nations are said to be drunk with the wine of her fornication.

So, the mention of merchants did indeed provide the vital clue to help resolve the mystery of the whore and the meaning of her fornication.

6. The whore gets a taste of her own medicine.
Once you understand the whores fornication as symbolic of an usury based financial system, then one of her punishments starts to make sense.

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. – Revelations 18:6

In other words, she is to be given a taste of her own medicine, a double dose from her own cup of abominations. With interest, if you will.

God knows best!

I’m sure all of us are aware of the violent imagery that Islam and Muslims are constantly associated with – the smoking towers, masked men with AKs, car bombings, suicide vests and so on. We see it all the time on mainstream news, publications and websites. We have all seen intense discussions about violence committed by people with Muslim names, in which the question arises as to why regular Muslims aren’t protesting Muslim violence. I have seen some go so far as to make the absurd claim that the moderates don’t exist or are apathetic to violence or are complicit with the actions of the violent extremists. Like as if regular Muslims, who’s primary concerns are of family and career (like anybody else), are supposed to drop everything and go out and protest every time Muslims make the news for all the wrong reasons. For now, lets leave out the examples of Muslims fighting terrorists themselves, and helping the US track down and kill its most wanted terrorist. That’s a different topic altogether.

It seems to be a common habit to point fingers at regular Muslims for the actions of extremists, for the sole reason that they both happen to follow the same religion. But is this kind of thinking applied to all religions equally? To illustrate, we could take the examples of African children suspected of being witches, who have had acid forced down their throats as an “exorcism”. We could also take the cases of older people, in Africa again, who have been severely beaten and burned alive for allegedly practicing witchcraft. For good measure we could also repeatedly quote Leviticus 20:27 (and plenty of other verses) so as to establish that such killings and torture are perfectly in line with what the Bible calls for, and thereby concluding that Christianity, as a religion, is inherently barbaric. While we are at it, lets pretend the billion plus regular Christians who do not engage in violence are non-existent. This way, we can concentrate on holding a magnifying glass on the savagery perpetrated by a small minority who also happen to be Christian. This way, Christians can be successfully portrayed as a backwards, savage and superstitious group of people. Of course, all of this has to be done in a manner similar to how the billion-plus normal Muslims have been swept under the carpet, while only the violent ones are showcased.

One could then ask regular Christians, why they aren’t protesting the violence perpetrated by the fundamentalists among them. It could be stated that the lack of Christians protesting Christian savagery implies that they are apathetic or that they are in league with the whackos guilty of torture and killing. Something that I have observed is that in most cases, regular Christians distance themselves and their religious beliefs from the fundamentalist whackos in some way or the other. Yet, when it comes to Islam, they have no qualms clubbing in regular Muslims and Islam with the terrorists. It seems their sense of discernment only works in special cases, when their religion is being scrutinized.

Ultimately, the truth is that a witch burning lynch mob can be jut as easily be made to represent Christianity, as a suicide bomber has been made to represent Islam. It only depends on what one is inclined to focus on. But of course, highlighting the negatives to conclude a certain religion is barbaric only reveals a biased mindset. Common sense, when applied, shows that religiously motivated violence is not exclusively rooted in religion, but rather an unfortunate by-product of multiple overlapping factors such as low living standards, lack of education, political unrest, civil conflict, war, ethnic divides and so on. Religion is a factor, yes… but only a small one but it would be foolish to blame an entire religon for the acts of savagery perpetrated by a few. There is a good reason why Christians in the West aren’t pouring acid down their kids throats. Its also happens to be the same reason why Muslims aren’t planting roadside bombs in countries like Malaysia and Qatar. We see that such barbarism almost always occurs in cultures living in third world countries plagued by poverty and illiteracy / torn by conflict or both. Not in cultures where people have education, decent living standards and regional stability.

In the end, it only makes sense to factor in economical, political and social factors while assessing a report of a so called “religiously” motivated act of barbarism. Blaming it on the religion is lazy and seriously lacking in critical thinking. Accusing the regular Christians and Muslims of not doing enough to stop violence is stupid beyond words, as neither of us are in any position to be able to control the extremists.

Sequence of narration…

– Jinns were created before Adam
– They lived on earth as communities
– They were extremely wicked and corrupted in their ways
– They were driven out of the land by an army of angels
– Satan(Iblis) was among the Jinn but he worshiped God
– He was given the rank of an angel
– God created a new kind of being from clay (Adam)
– The angels asked if the new being would also spread corruption on earth, like the Jinn.
– Satan grows jealous of the new being
– His jealousy turns to pride and looks down upon the new being
– God commands the angels to prostrate before the new being, they comply
– Satan (who had the rank of an angel) refuses to
– Satan being made of fire says he is better than Adam who was made of clay
– Satan ends up being cursed by God
– Satan asks God for respite till the day of judgement
– Satan then swears to lead humans astray
– Satan is told that he would have no power over the true servants of God

IMO, this gives a background to the Biblical story of Satan misleading Adam / Eve into eating the fruit. Satan’s plan was to mislead mankind, so it explains why Satan decided to deceive somebody just minding their own business, not posing a threat to him… or even being aware of him.
